I have this saved under meme recipes because of the oats, but it's actually really good. The "Bolognese" is more of a meat and carrot stew, and it's served alongside a "risOATto" with quick oats, seasoned with Parmesan cheese. My brother generated this recipe as a joke with ChatGPT, and I wanted to test it out and turn it into an actual dish.

Ingredients

Bolognese
- 1 lb Carrots
- 1 medium Onion
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp Minced garlic
- 1 lb Ground turkey, 93/7
- 14.5oz can Diced tomatoes
- 1 cup Unsweetened tomato sauce
- 2 tsp Basil, dried
- 2 tsp Oregano, dried
- 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes
- Pinch Salt
- Pinch Black pepper, ground
- 1 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
Oatmeal
- 3 cup Water
- 2 cup Quick oats
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
Cook Mode Off: Prevents screen dimming
- Cut the carrots and onion into a large dice and add to a dutch oven with olive oil. Just cover with water and bring to a boil. Boil until all liquid has been cooked off. Set vegetables aside
- Over medium heat, spray pot with olive oil and cook garlic for about a minute. Add in the meat and mash with a wooden spoon to break up clumps. Cook until browned
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add the vegetables back in, and add the vinegar
- Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in balsamic
- Meanwhile, in a separate saucepan, bring water, oats and salt to a boil. Reduce to medium low and cook until tender. Mix in some grated cheese at the end (risOATto style)
- Serve the oatmeal in bowls, and top with the bolognese
