Description
Clam sauce always makes me think of Fridays and Christmas time, and this recipe is the perfect way to satisfy these memories in a healthy way. It has some healthy fats in extra virgin olive oil, but isn't a total calorie bomb like most recipes. Ingredients
Serving(s)
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 4 tsp Minced garlic
- 1/4 cup White cooking wine
- 3x6.5oz cans Clams
- 1 tbsp Parsley, dried
- 1 tbsp Basil, dried
- 2 tsp Onion powder
- 2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Black pepper, ground
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes
Instructions
Cook Mode Off: Prevents screen dimming
- In a medium saucepot, saute oil and garlic over medium heat for a few minutes, until fragrant
- For clams, I use 3 6.5oz cans of minced clams, and I don't drain or rinse the can. Just add the whole can as is
- Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer on medium low for about half an hour, covered. Stir occasionally
- Serve with pasta (1 lb) or spagetti squash (whole squash)
