Honey mustard used to go be my go to spread or my sandwich or dressing for my salads. But commercial bottles are filled with soybean oil, high fructose corn syrup, sugar, gums, and artificial colors. Instead, here's a honey mustard you can feel good about eating. With cottage cheese and extra virgin olive oil, this dressing provides some protein and healthy fats. It's also sugar free, being sweetened with granulated monk fruit

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup, blended Nonfat cottage cheese
- 3 tbsp Mustard, Dijon or Horseradish
- 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp Minced garlic
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 3 tbsp Granulated monk fruit
Instructions
Cook Mode Off: Prevents screen dimming
- In a medium bowl, whisk together all ingredients until fully combined. Adjust sweetness and salt as desired. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week
- Plain nonfat greek yogurt will work in place of cottage cheese. I've also made this recipe using whole milk greek yogurt, and just removed one of the tablespoons of oil
- You can also use 1/2 tsp (2.5 g) of liquid monk fruit or stevia as your sweetener in place of the granulated monk fruit. 2 tbsp (40 g) sugar free syrup, maple syrup, or (ironically) honey should also work too
- Compared to typical bottled honey mustard, my version has a third of the fat and calories, with protein and no added sugar, something the store bought version can't say
